One of the very few jazz violinist who seemingly avoided the "jazz fusion" thing, Michael White flexes more than a strait ahead approach on his "Magic Music Company" LP. There is plenty of funk flowing throughout and the song "Spaceslide" demonstrates this well with its heavy(but not too heavy) drums awesome wah-wah guitar, bass, horns and an almost Mizell flavor in arrangement. Surprisingly though you can't hear any violin. Included for download is my slightly re-edited version of the song with longer drums in the intro for better mixing and cutting. I really am big on jazz funk so if you are too than you have a lot to look forward to here.
